Up date on the confused gentleman I and a pupil found in Dukinfield on Thursday.
His daughter traced me through my Face Book and phoned to say thank you.
He wanted to be taken to  Ladbrook Road, about 2 miles away, he's 92 years old and lived in Ladbrook Road as a child.
He lives with his daughter and she was on the phone when he escaped through the unlock back door, sadly his daughter said they have been fighting  with the idea of putting him in a home for some time. However, this latest episode has now convinced them they are not able to give him the care he deserves.
So sad your life has to end this way, I know from experience with friends they are doing the correct thing.

My pupil and I, Good Deed for the day.
Sat at the side of the road we saw an old gentleman trying to cross, who was either drunk or ill.
We watched him, and he appeared to go on his way, but returned, came to the passenger window and said. "It's you".
We got him in the car and not knowing what to do with him took him to a nearby doctors surgery.
Someone came out, said 'he's not one of ours' very helpful.
Therefore all we could do was take him to the police station. The poor chap was obviously suffering from Alzheimer's because on the way there he pointed out a couples of places we passed when he took me to school.
Fortunately for us the police were more helpful, so hopefully he was returned home safely if they discovered who he was.
