This is why I teach in a petrol driven car instead of getting more miles to the gallon with a diesel.  When I qualified I decided on petrol because when teenagers get their first car it won't be a diesel.
Over the years picking up student from other instructors they've struggled for a time adapting to petrol. Now as a recommendation from students, I taken out, just for one lesson,  two young men who have passed their test, bought a petrol car but keep stalling because they were taught to lift the clutch completely before applying gas.
Surely we should be teaching in the type of cars pupils are going to get when they pass.
